He possesses a unique blend of strategic vision, financial acumen, and innovative thinking. He has successfully established and grown multiple insurance businesses operating in over 40 countries in a field of Insurance, Reinsurance, Broking activity and Management.

Recognized for his expertise in risk management, product development and strategic planning, George has experience across industries including oil and gas, construction, agriculture, and captive management exploration. Over the years, he has created a number of specialized insurance products for complex projects, alternative risk management solutions and actively explores the InsurTech industry.

George is known for his strong business relationships and immaculate work ethics. He has been instrumental in a range of state-level reinsurance programs: from development of solutions for CAR, Energy and construction of icebreakers, to implementation of a major agricultural insurance program alongside with IDF, InsuResilince Fund and Swiss Re in Uzbekistan. His extensive experience makes him an effective communicator and negotiator in the global market.

Jean Jong Chen is a finance leader with over 26 years of experience in insurance, Takaful, and financial services. A Fellow of ACCA and Chartered Accountant with Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), he excels in financial strategy, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Jean Jong has held senior roles, including CFO and Financial Controller, in both multinational and domestic insurers, leading finance transformation projects such as Oracle and SAP implementations, and enhancing internal controls.

Known for his calm leadership and expertise in navigating complex financial challenges, he has steered finance teams through critical business phases including startups, acquisitions, and digital transformation. His collaborative approach has built high-performing teams and aligned finance with business goals. Jean Jong continues to drive financial planning, regulatory reporting, capital management, and IFRS implementation, serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.

Hiromi Pua is the Business Development Director at Semurg Insurance. Working closely with the Principal Officer, she is responsible for driving the reinsurance business at Semurg Insurance and ensuring the company’s sustainable growth. In this role, she also assists with the corporate development, expands business partner coverage as well as executes activities related to portfolio strategy.

Before joining Semurg Insurance, she was the Chief Business Officer at Archipelago Group. She played a key role in building the Malaysia’s Financial Advisors (FAs) portfolio with the premium growth of more than 300% within a period of 5 years. She also assisted with the growth of the new business channels in General reinsurance portfolio to 80 within merely 3 years.

Prior to joining The Archipelago Group, Hiromi Pua was with several banks namely RHB Bank, Citibank, UOB bank dealing with High-Net-Worth Clients. With 20+ years of exposure in banking, agency and wealth management, she has extensive customer service experience. Her background in business management gives her an in-depth knowledge and strong ability to ensure high customer satisfaction and to build a strong group reputation.to stakeholders.

Denis Markov has a strong track record of over 28 years in engineering and property underwriting. He worked as an industrial insurance underwriter at top global insurers such as Zurich, Allianz, Chubb, and RSA. His expertise spans various industries including Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Mining, Iron & Steel, and Civil Engineering. He has pursued continuous professional development, taking courses in engineering insurance at Munich Re and in finance, accounting, marketing, at AIBEc.

Denis specialises in operational and construction insurance, underwriting complex large-scale industrial and civil engineering projects. He is skilled at assessing risks, negotiating terms, and has a wide experience in working with international brokers such as Willis, Marsh, Aon, etc. to secure coverage for clients in challenging environments.

Denis’s experience extends beyond underwriting. As a Chief Insurance Specialist for a large global iron and steel manufacturer, he authored company’s insurance procurement procedures. While working on the client’s side, he brought strong understanding of corporate insurance procurement and risk management strategies to ensure optimal coverage and risk mitigation.
