Blue Card
Semurg Insurance is accredited to issue Blue Cards attesting that the owner of a ship registered in Malaysia maintains insurance coverage in accordance with the requirements of The International Convention on Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution, 2001 (the Bunker Convention).
A Blue Card for your ship is required if you plan to visit a port in a flag state that is a party to the Bunker Convention. The Card certifies that you have all the proper insurance policies regarding pollution damage.
If you are the owner of any seagoing ship of more than 1,000 gross tons that is registered in Malaysia, you can request Semurg Insurance to issue a Bunker Convention Blue Card to the relevant flag state. We have all the procedures in place to make the process simple and hassle-free for you. We will perform an expedite verification that you as a ship owner have all the compulsory insurance coverage and promptly provide you with a Blue Card that you can submit to your flag state.
